MVC - Blue Ridge Parkway, MP16.5

Wintergreen Fire Department and Wintergreen Rescue Squad were dispatched for an MVC on the Blue Ridge Parkway at mile post 16.5 with entrapment. When units arrived on scene they found a vehicle on its top with one patient entrapped for approximately 3-hours. Crews identified that additional resources were going to be needed and called Augusta County to have Wilson Fire Department assist. One patient was extricated and flown to UVA. Units on scene were Medic 177, Squad 1, Engine 61 (LZ), Wilson Fire Department (LZ & Scene), Montebello Fire Department, Chief 62, Augusta County Sheriff’s Office, and National Park Service.
